Hex Nuts are divided into three types: I, II and thin according to their nominal thickness. Nuts above level 8 are divided into two types, type I and type II.

The type II hex nut is relatively thick, and is often used in occasions where assembly and disassembly are often required.

I-type nut refers to a common hexagon nut with a nominal height m ≥ 0.8D of the nut.

As the height of the nut increases, the guaranteed stress index can be achieved at a lower quenching and tempering hardness, so the toughness of the nut is increased.
